I’m Corinna Friebel, a Registered Psychotherapist, Auckland, New Zealand.
My goal is to empower you establishing and restoring healthy relationships.
I was born and grew up in Germany. As a young adult I lived in Hamburg and Berlin, both cities with super-diversity, where I developed my particular interest in cross-cultural work. Besides studying design at art-school, I became actively involved with Amnesty International as a volunteer for many years.
Migration to New Zealand was the major turning point in my life. While I began my new career in the health professions doing bodywork, coming into contact with my client’s trauma led me on to studying counselling and psychotherapy at AUT.
I graduated in 1997 and since then have worked in specialist refugee trauma services in Auckland and Australia and for the past 14 years as a psychotherapist for the Auckland District Health Board.
I also have clinical management experience with a passion for developing innovative services for clients.
Member of New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists NZAP
I now offer my experience of 20 years as a psychotherapist in my private practice in the CBD and Takapuna.
I am bi-lingual and practice both in English and German.
The strength of my experience is that I work well with a wide range of clients from diverse cultural, ethnic and religious background.
This may range from short term counselling support to explorative psychotherapy for longstanding issues.
Book an appointment at my CBD or Takapuna office.
All communication is confidential.
I am here to help.
